Stress Management

What is Stress?

Stress is a feeling of emotional or physical tension, arising from any event or thought that makes one feel frustrated, angry, or nervous. It's the body's reaction to a challenge or demand. Excessive or prolonged stress can negatively impact physical and mental health.

 Identifying and Managing Stressors:

  • Recognize your triggers:

Pay attention to situations, thoughts, or events that consistently cause you stress.

  • Address the source:

If possible, try to eliminate or minimize exposure to identified stressors.

  • Time management:

Learn to prioritize tasks, break down large projects into smaller steps, and avoid procrastination.

  • Set boundaries:

Learn to say "no" to commitments that overextend you, and delegate tasks when appropriate.

  • Mindfulness and Meditation:

Mindfulness practices can help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings without judgment, allowing you to respond to stress in a more balanced way.

  • Social Connection:

Spending time with loved ones, confiding in a friend, or participating in social activities can provide support and reduce feelings of isolation.

  • Physical Activity:

Regular exercise, even a brisk walk, can release endorphins, improve mood, and help you cope with stress.

  • Healthy Lifestyle:

Balanced Diet: Nourish your body with a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Sufficient Sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to support your body's ability to cope with stress.

  • Engage in Enjoyable Activities:

Schedule time for hobbies, activities, or anything that brings you joy and relaxation.
